it's cheap. it's good. it's right next door to my apt. it's relatively healthy. what more could a girl ask for?

i like the turkey dogs w/kraut and mustard. the buffalo dogs are a buck extra and are a little chewy.

they have organic fries and onion rings. haven't had the rings, but the fries are pretty good.

C. and I stopped here for a pre-dinner snack a few weeks ago. We were meeting some friends for dinner and had the inkling that they might be late -- they weren't! -- so we went to Good Dogs to try their upscale hot-dog concoctions.

We got the tofu dog with sauerkraut and mustard on a bun. The dogs were quite nice, but it was absolutely amazing how slow the service was. We couldn't really tell which of the two fellows was working on our order, if at all, and the wait was interminable.

One guy was even talking about how, just because he worked there, people shouldn't expect good service. It was kind of an odd thing to overhear while we were waiting, and while I'm still not sure what he was talking about with his coworker, he made his point by making us wait 10 minutes for our hotdogs.

You'd be better off throwing you own in a pot of hot water. Or going to a street cart. Good Dog, bad service.

The only thing stopping me from giving this 2 stars is the lack of competition from a truly great high end hot dog vendor. The dog itself was quite large and juicy, but to surpass the budget dog experience at Gray's / whatever, you need a better roll and a more rich array of toppings than Good Dog offered. Good if you're in the area -- the toppings are fresh -- but it does not compare to hot dog artistry at Dash Dog.

twice the size of the hot dogs at grays, and with toppings like baked beans! im not sure if that is good or bad...
they also have cute outdoor seating so the toppings can fall on the table instead of on your shirt.
